JUNIOR
NATURALIST OUTING CLUB
April, 2004 - March, 2005

Explore
animals and their habitats from the Berkshires to the Atlantic Ocean
in this year-long outing club. Each month, a different specialist
leads an educational trek across New England to experience the natural
world through hands-on adventures.
Encounter
live bears, owls, and bats; roam where dinosaurs once walked; and
explore ocean life on an overnight trip to Cape Cod. Join us for
one or more of these fascinating experiences that will leave children
(and their parents) with lasting memories and more knowledge about
New England wildlife.
Important Information and Registration
All
programs are designed to encourage young people to have an intimate,
safe experience. Age appropriateness and ability levels vary for
each outing as noted in the program description. Please plan appropriately.
Qualified chaperones will accompany each group allowing young
people to attend on their own. It is recommended that chlidren
ages 7 and under be accompanied by an adult. Parents or caregivers
are also welcome to join us for a fun family outing.
Enrollment is limited. Registration is required two weeks prior
to program date. Full refunds will be issued for cancellations
received one week prior to the trip. Please note, dates and times
are subject to change. Registration is guaranteed with receipt
of payment. You will receive a confirmation letter, itinerary
and if necessary, transportation directions. To register call

DESCRIPTIONS
The
Night Sky
6 - 8 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2005

Members: $10 adults, $5 children; Non-members: $12 adults, $7

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered just what
lies beyond our world? Here's an opportunity to explore the world
of astronomy as you visit the Williams College Planetarium for a
very special show. Weather permitting, look at the stars through
the College's high-powered telescopes. Recommended for ages 7 and
older.
Maple
Syrup, Food and Farming
12 - 4 pm, Saturday, March 12, 2005
Transportation provided
Members: $25 adults, $15 children; Non-members: $30 adults, $20
children
Visit a working farm and sugarhouse at Ioka Valley Farm. Observe
how maple sugar is extracted from trees and turned into the thick,
tasty syrup. As you visit with the animals, you'll learn about products
that come from a farm, and how agriculture affects the environment.
After a tour and presentation, you'll get to sit down with your
family and enjoy the farm's fresh maple syrup on a big stack of
pancakes!
