PITTSFIELD, Mass. - (January 9, 2008) — The Berkshire Museum will present its annual community celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 21, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. The event will feature a performance by Youth Alive step dancing and drumming troupe and readings from King’s famed “I Have a Dream” speech. Admission is $5 adults, $4 seniors, and $3 children ages 3-18 (members and children under 3/free).
The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts is located at 28 Renne Avenue in downtown Pittsfield. Suggested parking is available at the corner of First and Fenn Streets and across from the Common, east of the United Methodist Church.
Youth Alive, a troupe of young dancers from Pittsfield, perform Hip-Hop, African, and Modern dances using their bodies as musical instruments to create a mix of sounds through feet stomping, hand clapping, and body movement.
