BERKSHIRE CHILDREN’S THEATER TO PERFORM “BABES IN TOYLAND” AT BERKSHIRE MUSEUM DECEMBER 8-9

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - PITTSFIELD, Mass. (November 28, 2007) – The Berkshire Children’s Theater will present the family performance “Babes in Toyland” at the Berkshire Museum in Downtown Pittsfield on Saturday, December 8, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Sunday, December 9, at 2 p.m. The musical holiday tale brings to life favorite Mother Goose characters on a magical journey through Toyland. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for ages 3-18 ($5/$3 members). To order tickets, call (413) 443-7171, extension 10. Ticket price includes admission to the Festival of Trees. Family Performances are underwritten by the Rita and Sol Toscher Memorial Fund and sponsored by the Pittsfield Cooperative Bank.

The Berkshire Children’s Theater, founded in 2004, is an ensemble of approximately 40 local performers ranging in age from 5 to 19 under the direction of Kara Powers Demler and Debbie White.

The performance is offered in connection with the 23rd Annual Festival of Trees on view through December 31, 2007. 200 decorated trees celebrate this year's theme "On the Move" as tree designers look to planes, trains, and automobiles for inspiration. Highlights of the 2007 Festival include displays of vintage wind-up toys from the private collection of Victor Reiling, model trains, and antique skis, skates, and sleds from the Berkshire Museum’s collection. The Festival of Trees is sponsored by Legacy Banks Foundation.

The Berkshire Museum is located at 39 South Street on Route 7 in Downtown Pittsfield. The galleries are open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. The Berkshire Museum will be closed for construction from January 1 through late March, 2008.
