Our new outreach programs bring the Museum to you! Look for the programs marked with Wally's tracks. You may opt to do an outreach program as a stand-alone experience at your school, or you may wish to combine an outreach experience with a Museum visit. Group size for outreach programs is 10 to 25 students.


Touch the Sea
Grades 3 - 5
(60 minutes)

Create your own tide pool display for your classroom or for the entire school! The program begins with a hands-on experience with live tide pool animals. Students then create their own sea stars and urchins, and participate in math and language arts activities as they create a class "tank." Skill focus areas include descriptive writing; reading comprehension; adding with currency; determining area and perimeter; and problem solving.

Komeekha 
Grades Pre K - 2 (40 - 60 minutes)

The Mohican word Komeekha means, "come in, be at home."  Invite Museum educators into your classroom for a lively program that helps students compare past and present and make connections to Mohican and Iroquois cultures by acting out stories with puppets, handling artifacts, making music, and dancing.
